Easter

This past year has been such an exciting year of firsts. Each time we come to a holiday, I am reminded that it is Benjamin's first holiday and that last year at this time, we didn't even know of his existence. God has been so good to us. So our next holiday is Easter and what an important holiday! I have been thinking lately of the amazing gift we have been given in Jesus and am overwhelmed that God deems it just to call me His own child because He sees me through the blood of Jesus. I am also a bit overwhelmed at times with how to teach Benjamin that. Matt and I truly want Benjamin to understand the gift we have been given and to know that God desires relationship with Him. Please pray that even as he is so young we would live out our relationship with God so that Benjamin can see and that we will be wise in teaching him.

HE IS RISEN! PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Hindsight is Always Better

I am discovering more and more that hasty decisions nearly always come with regrets and that hindsight is always 20/20. A year ago, our computer died and we had to have a new one right away. We did some minimal research, but due to the fact that we had just moved, we didn't have much to spend. So, we purchased just about the cheapest computer on the market, figuring that all computers are pretty much the same if you just need basic functions. We didn't need fancy media or anything, so we thought we could get by with cheap. Wrong!!! When you buy the cheapest computer, you get what you pay for. We have been groaning about our dinosaur computer ever since. It has been slow since the beginning and we figured we could live with slow. But it has gotten much slower as it has aged. Then the SD card reader quit working so uploading pictures became more difficult. But we were able to hook our camera up to the computer with the USB cable and it worked just fine. Then about 2 weeks ago, the USB ports on the front of the computer (a desktop) quit working. It was frustrating, but we figured oh well, we have four in the back. Then last Thursday the four in the back quit working as well. So now I have no way to upload pictures to our computer so that all of our wonderful friends and family can see Benjamin in all his cuteness. This is truly a disaster! Not only that, but we also cannot print from our computer, which is very frustrating for Matt being that he is trying very hard to complete his last semester of school. So, the moral of the story...cheapest is not always the better way to go.

Pictures will have to be put on hold for a while. However, I am still taking pictures and you will get a flood of them when we figure out our computer problems. Fortunately, we did our research with our camera. :)

Loving the Texas Weather

I think this is one of my favorite times of year in San Antonio. We are in that in between stage when the Cedar pollen counts are low again, and the days are warm and sunny without being uncomfortably hot. This past Sunday the high was 85, so we took Benjamin to the park after church. He loved the swings, but also enjoyed a little walk with mommy and daddy. I think Benjamin and I have been out walking almost every day this week. I love it!

First Haircut

Benjamin got his very first haircut this past week. He still does not have a lot of hair, but what he had was getting long, so we decided to cut it. Overall he did really well. Of course he moved his head a lot while I was cutting it because he wanted to see what was going on, but we managed to cut off what we wanted to and not too much of what we didn't. The haircut makes him look so grown up.

Growing up

This week has been a big week for Benjamin...and for us. He is officially crawling now and gets faster every day. Watch out! He loves any kind of cord he can find, whether it be phone, electrical, or USB cords. Those seem to give him the most motivation to crawl. Very scary for us as those are the things we want him to stay away from. Benjamin has also finally figured out that rolling from his tummy to back has its advantages. He has been capable of doing it for many months now and has done it a few times, but most of the time he would roll to his tummy and be perfectly content to stay there. But now that he figured out that he can get into more things by rolling, he's all over the place.
